5/11/10 Lost horizons…

In the morning the cloud has lifted and we set off on a spectacular journey, leaving the industrial coast behind and heading further inland…

We climb a couple of thousand feet and with the weather improving all the time, we’re lucky enough to see the dusting of snow on the peaks…

It’s a fabulous place to relax. No wonder brown bears don’t have mortgages…

We pass through several tunnels…

…and then begin to leave the mountains, watching the terrain turn from thick and lush to sparse and rocky…

…and then from pointy to extremely flat…

Where is the horizon?

We hole up just outside a tiny place called Villamaňan somewhere between Leon and Benavita. What did happen to all the mountains?
